Exploring New Opportunities

Dr. Curt Rhodes was in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia July 6-13 for discussions with the Arab Urban Development Institute (AUDI). He is a member of the scientific/professional advisory committee for child protection initiatives in AUDI.  This committee identified opportunities for Questscope to work through mayors’ offices in Syria, Sudan and Yemen to introduce our participatory

Curt with Dr. Osman Nour (center) and Dr. Ibrahim Al Turki (right) discuss child protection
approach to children and youth as part of a greater initiative to ensure that dropouts and street children have a chance to return to education and opportunities in mainstream society.

While in Riyadh, Curt was able to stay that week with Dr. Armond Habiby and his family. Dr. Habiby is a member of Questscope’s International Council and provided strategic insights to guide the development of our regional programs.

Curt will follow up these meetings with a visit to Sudan, from July 19-23.  During this visit, he will meet with AUDI representatives in Khartoum to discuss further options for Questscope expansion.
